Abstract

This dataset exhibits the surficial geology of the Oak Ridges Moraine area, southern Ontario. The study area includes most of the Greater Toronto Area. This dataset shows groundwater level and depht in the Oak Ridges Moraine and the altitude of the wells where the measurements were taken.

The dataset comes from the gw_on.zip (archivedocument) file. The data for the groundwater elevation comes from the dataset 'Puits d'eau souterraine dans la Moraine d'Oak Ridges'. The data for the well_elevation field were copied from the original file without modification. The data for the field groundwater_elevation were calculated as follow: well_elevation - static_water_level. Finally the data for the groundwater_depth field correspond to the static_water_level field of the wells dataset. Only the records showing non null data for the well_elevation and static_water_level fields were kept to create the dataset.
