Abstract

This map shows the piezometric surface of the Milk River Transboundary Aquifer region. The aquifer is bounded by the edge of the Disturbed Belt on the west, by the Cypress Hills on the northeast and the Bears Paw Mountains on the southeast. To create the piezometry, a total of 40 water levels data measurements (2006 - 2014) collected during the MiRTAP fieldwork, or obtained from the public databases were used. The results show that the highest piezometric lines (1280 - 1220 m) are located in the Sweet Grass Hills and in the area of Cut Bank. The lowest piezometric lines (780 m) are found near Havre.

Introduction
Creation of piezometric surface dataset for Milk River Creation of piezometric surface dataset for Milk River
Process step Sources
The piezometric surfaces were compiled and converted to dataset except MIRTAP data, which were collected on the field. They were then converted into piezometric contours, joining the same piezometric surface with a line. Some groundwater path directions were taken from the literature. The other directions were drawn perpendicular to the piezometric contour with consideration for the hydrogeologic context.
