Boreholes are holes made to study stratification / geology. Water wells are structures created in the ground digging, boring, or drilling to access groundwater in aquifer. This dataset represents the water wells bored for the groundwater project assessment area, excluding the wells already present in provincial or other databases for which the GSC does not have the authorizations to publish the data. It is a general description of the well, including name, owner, source, purpose, id, location, depth, water level, geology, stratigraphy, etc. Two tables are linked to the main geodataset for the management of associated lithologies (typically referenced in the well log) and well construction components (screen, casing, sealing, filter).
