Identification

Abstract

This dataset presents the aquifer vulnerability of the Gulf Islands. The DRASTIC method was used to define the vulnerability of the Gulf Islands aquifer, but the method was modified to incorporate the structural characteristics of fractured bedrock aquifers. The regions of moderate to low vulnerability occur primarily in the central portions of the islands. Regions of moderately high to high vulnerability exist primarily at the periphery of the islands and in areas of exposed rock.
