Abstract

This dataset presents the surficial geology of the Winnipeg Formation. The study area extends from 101° to 96°. Chemical analyses of water samples are from 683 wells covering a large section of southern Manitoba. Analyses come from 2 main sources: 1) a large database compiled by Manitoba Water Stewardship and 2) Geological Survey of Canada. The current database (2007) also contained 88 analyses of stable isotopes of oxygen and hydrogen.

The dataset is from the "Water Chemistry of Winnipeg Formation in Manitoba" publication downloaded from the GEOSCAN website (http://geoscan.ess.nrcan.gc.ca/cgi-bin/starfinder/0?path=geoscanf.fl&id=fastlink&pass=&format=FLSHORTFORG&search=R=221058), table of4933.txt. The original coordinate system was estimated to NAD83 UTM zone 14N. The only available data was that coordinates were in a UTM projection. The 14N zone corresponds to the project's geographic location therefore it was chosen to reflect the data's coordinates.
