Sources

The main part of the dataset for the wells (id, name, depth and coordinates) comes from the gw_bc.zip file of the archives (archivedocument) folder. The data for the static_water_level, well_yield and depth_to_bedrock are from the gulf_islands_water_well_db.mdb (data_unclassed) database. To identify the measurements units the documentation available on the British Columbia ministry of environment website was used (http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/wsd/data_searches/obswell/map/obsWells.html). After identifying the measurements units data related to groundwater level and bedrock depth expressed in feet were converted to metres. The yield data expressed in U.S. Gallon per minute was converted to litre per second.
