Abstract

This dataset presents the mean annual groundwater recharge rate in mm/y of the south-central area of the Maritimes Carboniferous Basin. The study area extends from 65°30' à 63°30'. The recharge rate is evaluated with two methods: the water balance method and the hydrograph separation method. This latter is not applied in Nova Scotia due to the lack of hydrograph. After corrections, the results show a mean recharge value of 130 to 165 mm/y.

The dataset was created using the file RechargeRate.shp, however the recharge rate values were modified to match the 4-4 map values of the Atlas of the South-Central Area of the Maritimes Carboniferous Basin. Using ArcGIS original data in vector format were converted in a raster.
