Identification

Abstract

This dataset represents the piezometry of bedrock fractured aquifer of the Richelieu project. The study area includes contiguous watersheds of Yamaska and Richelieu rivers, and the Missisquoi Bay. The groundwater levels are mainly from the Hydrogeological Information System and anterior studies. The groundwater levels interpolation was realised using kriging. On a regional level, the piezometric map shows that the flow conditions are very distinct considering the hydrogeological context. The Appalachian Highland designates recharge areas. The Appalachian piedmont shows low horizontal flow, while the St. Lawrence Lowland presents a flow starting from the recharge areas to the Richelieu River.

For the Richelieu Project a piezometric map was produced for the regional fractured rock Aquifer. The map was created using water elevation data previously validated from selected bedrock wells. The interpolation was then made by taking into account the distinct conditions of the St. Lawrent Platform (Lowlands) compared to the internal and external Appalachians zones .
