Identification

Abstract

This dataset shows the groundwater level in some wells in the Mirabel area. The study area located northwest of Montreal, includes four regional county municipalities: Argenteuil, Deux-Montagnes, Mirabel and Therese-De-Blainville. The dataset includes elevation and groundwater depth data. The final set of points representing water levels in the regional bedrock aquifer consists of 450 piezometric values. The elevation of the piezometric surface ranges from 20 to 40 m in the vicinity of the Ottawa River and the Rivière des Mille Îles, to 120 m on the Oka Hills and over 170 m in the Laurentians.

The dataset is built according to the file piez_meas.shp. The attribute table was modified. Groundwater elevation data comes from the Z field of the original attribute table. In the original attribute table there were several fields for well elevation and groundwater depth, data was different from one field to another. The equation: well elevation - groundwater depth = groundwater elevation was used to determined the groundwater elevation data to be extract from the original table.
